Pre-Treatment & Aftercare
Tips to ensure your treatment goes smoothly
Check In
Please check in with the receptionist on the 11th floor. You will be given access to our comfortable waiting area. Try our daily fruit infused water or help yourself to a light snack while you wait.
Be Punctual
Please arrive 10 minutes early. I use the time leading up to our appointment to fully sanitize the room and equipment and carefully review your curated treatment. I respect your time, so please extend this courtesy to me and my other clients. There is a 48-hour cancellation policy. Any appointment canceled less than 48 hours in advance will be charged for 100% of the reserved service.
Pain Relief
Taking a pain reliever such as Tylenol or Advil 30 minutes before your appointment can reduce sensitivity. Applying a topical numbing cream 45 minutes before your appointment will make the treatments more comfortable. Covering the area with plastic wrap after numbing cream application allows for a deeper, more effective numb. You can purchase numbing creams at your local drug store or ask your physician to prescribe one.
Hair Length
Please trim hairs with scissors and do not shave for 48 hours before your appointment. Hair should be 1/16 of an inch, or or able to be grasped by a tweezer. If the hair is too short, it might not be able to be treated.
Hydrate
Drinking an adequate amount of water the day before, the day of, and day after your appointment will make the treatment more comfortable and effective. Electrolysis works by using the water content in your skin. When dehydrated, the hairs are much more difficult to treat and the treatment can be painful. Stay hydrated, folks!
Exfoliate
Exfoliating 24 – 48 hours before your appointment removes dead skin and exposes the opening of the hair follicle, making it easier to treat and remove the hair.
Hygiene
Please arrive showered prior to your session. Areas such as genitals and underarms may have an unpleasant odor if not cleaned. Should this occur, you will kindly be asked to reschedule your appointment. Your electrologist has the right to refuse services and you will be charged in full for the missed appointment. Repeated uncleanliness will result in cancellation of your contract and treatment plans.
Avoid
Some report heightened sensitivity when drinking caffeine the day of their appointment, booking near menstrual cycles, or using Retinoids 48 hours prior to their appointment. If you have a low pain tolerance or are highly sensitive, please be aware of the above before and on the day of your appointment.
